Kinetic-Art: Germany - Potsdamer Place
-
Photo Information
- Titel: "flying engels"
- Place of origin of the picture: Country / Germany / Berlin / “Entrance S-Station Potsdamer Platz”
- Date: January 2013 / in the night
- Description of place and image: The photo was taken during a light installation in front of the entrance to the S-Bahn station at Potsdamer Platz. The light forms look like angels and are reminiscent of the film by Wim Wenders ‘ Himmel über Berlin’. In the 1920s, Potsdamer Platz was considered a hotspot of social life. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, it became a central symbol of Berlin's new beginning. The square represents the transformation of a divided city into a vibrant, modern metropolis, even if the square missed the chance to become a world centre of modernism and pioneering art architecture. It combines history, the present and the future, and unfortunately with often boring architecture.

The aim is to surprise: place, time and light are real components. Each work is created in a single exposure as an abstract experimental composition. A special (unique) image of reality. Place and time are a primary element. Imagination and technology in symbiosis. No post-processing of the forms, everything is real.
I am drawn to the tension between light and dark, order and chaos.
